DRYDEN riding school owner Jenny Stark ran five showjumping competitions from January to April as part of a winter league.
Many competitors made it to four out of five contests, giving them an advantage in the collection of points for the championship. Two local families stood out in the winnings due to their consistency during the months in the placings.

Emily and Katie Anderson have been on good form with a placing in each competition overall, closely followed by George and Lucinda Crawford, who missed the first competition.

The competitions ran for juniors in the morning and adults in the afternoon. At this final competition, the showjumping course was beefed up with new fillers, maximum heights and a joker fence last, which caught out a few early on.

A real championship feel was created with background music playing and competitors being put in a draw for the jump-off order. It was very close right to the end when all was revealed in the mounted prizegiving.
